Structural Integration is the body of work originally developed by Ida P. Rolf, Ph.D. Dr. Rolf developed the work that she called Structural Integration, and that her early followers termed "Rolfing®". Brian Lau is certified in Structural Integration through the Core Institute and is a professional member of the International Association of Structural Integrators. He brings to his sessions a decade of experience and a wide range of deep tissue, structural integration and osteopathic techniques.

Structural Integration (entire body)
$100 per session - discounts for prepaying multiple sessions (sessions last approx. 75-90 minutes)

Structural Integration is among the most advanced bodywork available, requiring extensive training in anatomy and physiology and a deep understanding of how to release chronically tight and painful areas in the body.

Structural Integration uses deep, carefully focused pressure to release and lengthen chronic tightness/shortness in the muscles and connective tissue. Painful habitual patterns give way to more efficient, fluid movement. The entire body then begins to move, breathe and simply exist in a much more relaxed state.

SI practitioners are trained in the 10-session protocol originated by Dr. Ida P. Rolf. Each session in the series is based on specific goals and focuses on a specific area of the body; each session builds on the previous session to produce lasting change. Together, the 10 sessions realign the architecture of the entire body for better weight distribution, posture/gait improvement, and balance with the pull of gravity.

While the ten-session work can be extremely effective, a single session can bring about more change and longer lasting results than traditional forms of massage.

Visceral Manipulation (torso-based)
$30 per session (approx. 20 minutes)

VM is a powerful tool for transforming the body from the inside out and improving organ function without drugs or needles.  Internal organs (viscera) often become partially ‘glued’ to themselves and their surrounding tissue; this can manifest as digestive problems, difficulty breathing, or chronic neck, back or other pain.  Visceral Manipulation ‘unsticks’ the viscera through precision techniques, often with startlingly prompt and wide-ranging results, including in areas not directly touched.

Visceral Manipulation has a special role as a complement to other treatments and is often included in the SI sessions described above.  As a solo treatment, it is gentle and comfortable, yet so powerful that a short session is all that’s needed on a given day.
